Literacy Support

At Wild and Clever we offer 1:1 sessions focused on individual goals in reading, writing, and spelling.

Whether your child is catching-up, starting out or curious to know more, we work towards specific and measured goals that are personalised for each student.

We combine structured, evidence-informed practice with imagination and storytelling to make learning engaging and memorable.

With lived experience of neurodiversity, we celebrate all kinds of clever.

Our sessions follow the Orton-Gillingham approach, which means teaching is:

Multisensory — using sight, sound, speech, and writing to strengthen learning and memory.

Structured and sequential — building from simple to complex skills.

Diagnostic and tailored — lessons adapt to your child’s unique strengths and challenges.

Explicit and clear — language concepts are taught directly, not assumed.

Sound-to-spelling focused — connecting how words sound with how they’re written.

What to expect

All intervention begins with a conversation with you – the adult around what is happening for your child, what teachers and other professionals are saying and what your goals are for sessions with Wild and Clever. From there, we usually begin with an initial diagnostic assessment with your child to give us an understanding of current skills. From there, we’ll develop a plan that considers where your child is at, and the priorities we’ve discussed.
